The Ika South House of Assembly candidate for the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), Mrs. Ogor Tony-Obuh, has declared that the era of a single individual deciding the fate of the people was over.

Mrs. Tony-Obuh made this statement during a recent NDC meeting held at Stevenson Hotel in Agbor, Delta State, where the party officially welcomed new members defecting from the AllProgressives Congress (APC).

Expressing delight over the alignment, she noted that Deacon Chris was a man of God and expressed confidence that the Holy Spirit would occupy the Osadebe House come 2027.

She disclosed that she sought divine guidance before embarking on her journey to contest the Ika South Constituency position in the State House of Assembly.

Ogor Tony-Obuh added that God instructed her to begin her political journey from the legislature.

Reflecting on her past political experience, the candidate recalled touring all 25 Local Government Areas of Delta State in 2014 alongside her late husband.

She stated that the journey gave her deep insight into the needs of the people, expressing determination to actualize her late husband’s dream of transforming Ika South and Delta State in general

Mrs. Tony-Obuh urged Deltans and Nigerians at large to actively protect their votes during the upcoming elections.

She emphasized that God’s plan for the people of Ika was to have a God-fearing leader at the helm of affairs.

She promised to lead by spiritual example and announced plans to campaign rigorously across every corner of Ika South, calling on voters to deliver a total victory for the party just as she predicted a political wave similar to the momentum witnessed in 2014.

Also speaking at the event was Mr. Steven Ikpade—founder of Stevenson Security and proprietor of Stevenson Hotel—described his former party, the APC, as “darkness” and expressed relief at joining the NDC.

While refraining from naming specific individuals, Mr. Ikpade alleged that key APC figure were involved in certificate forgery, contrasting them with Mr. Peter Obi, whom he described as a man of integrity without such baggage.
