Frontline House of Assembly aspirant for the Ethiope East Constituency, Quadrant Chief Dr. (Mrs.) Mercy Eguriase Sule, has issued a poignant assessment of the Constituency current state, asserting that the constituency is “clinically sick” and in dire need of professional intervention.

Speaking during a recent media engagement, Chief Sule emphasized that the socio-economic health of Ethiope East has deteriorated to a level that requires urgent and strategic “medical attention.”

She noted that her decision to contest the seat in the House of Assembly was not born out of mere political ambition, but out of a diagnostic necessity to heal the gaps in governance and representation.

Dr. Sule maintained that her aspiration is rooted in a desire to fundamentally shift the current narrative of the constituency.

She expressed a firm commitment to ensuring that both the youth and the elders are no longer sidelined, but are instead given a decisive voice in the legislative process.

“The time is now to resuscitate the glory of Ethiope East,” she stated. “We cannot afford to remain in a state of stagnation. I am calling on every citizen to take their future seriously by ensuring they are registered and have their Permanent Voters Cards (PVCs) ready.

“That card is the instrument of our collective healing.”

Chief Sule, who is widely recognized as a Diaspora Ambassador and a Global Humanitarian, hinted that her approach to development will be unconventional and far-reaching.

She emphasized to leverage her extensive international connections and decades of experience to attract foreign investment and developmental partnerships to the Constituency

Hinting further, Dr. Sule revealed that her primary focus remains on economic empowerment and dignity of labor, just as she highlighted a two-pronged strategy:

Youth Employment and the Utilization of her global networks to create sustainable job opportunities that align with 21st-century skills.

She disclosed that women’s empowerment would take center stage and would provide the necessary resources to move women away from grueling manual labor into entrepreneurship and skilled trades.

“Our women should not be confined to the streets doing laborer jobs to survive,” Chief Sule remarked. “With the right exposure and the international experience I will bring to the table, we can build an Ethiope East where every constituent will have the opportuniy to thrive with dignity.”
