ETHIOPE EAST – Diaspora Ambassador and global humanitarian, Quadrant Chief Dr. (Mrs.) Mercy Eguriase Sule, has declared her intention to contest for the Ethiope East Constituency seat in 2027, promising a transformative era of representation to correct years of perceived legislative decline.
In a recent telephone interview with journalists, Chief Mercy emphasized that her international leadership experience is the key to rectifying the “abnormalities” currently plaguing the constituency.
Chief Mercy did not mince words regarding the current state of affairs, describing the existing legislative framework as a “deficiency” that the electorate should no longer tolerate.
”The people of Ethiope East deserve the best representation. I am coming to change the narrative and provide the effective leadership that has been missing,” she stated.
Stating her priorities, Chief Dr Mrs Mercy Eguriase Sule JP noted that she was going to prioritize Education and Healthcare
She highlighted her primary areas of concern, maintaining that critical infrastructure in the Constituency has been neglected.
Speaking further, the Urhobo born Philanthropist reiterated her 2027 agenda focuses on Modernizing and equipping hospitals across the constituency, as well as addressing the general state of decay
She urged the sons and daughters of Ethiope East to prepare for “massive changes” once she assume a leadership role.
In a significant political move, the Urhobo-born leader also confirmed her resignation from the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
She hinted that she has officially joined the Nigerian Democratic Congress (NDC) to pursue her legislative ambitions.
Chief Mercy further disclosed that she has formally notified the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) of her exit from her former party, signaling a full commitment to her new political platform ahead of the 2027 polls.
