AGBOR — A prominent contender for the Delta State House of Assembly, Mrs. Ogor Tony-Obuh, has officially received her Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) nomination form to contest the upcoming 2027 general election.

Receiving the form, Mrs Ogor Tony-Obuh reaffirmed her readiness to strengthen the state’s legislative framework, promising the people of Ika South Constituency a new dimension of impactful and qualitative representation.

Speaking on what inspired her decision to run, she reiterated that an enduring love for the people of Ika South remains her primary driving force, emphasizing that the bond with her people would be further strengthened through quality representation and people-oriented bills designed to address pressing community needs.

She emphasized that her legislative priority would center on an open-door policy and inclusive governance which she claimed would drive the necessary socio-economic development for the people of Ika South.

Reflecting on the progress of her campaign, Mrs. Tony-Obuh extended her gratitude to party faithful, leaders, and co-contestants for their support, describing her steady strides as a collective victory for the party.

She also hinted at her readiness to help build and reposition the NDC in the local government area, asserting that the party’s growth would soon become the envy of other political platforms in Ika South.

On her legislative strategy, the House of Assembly hopeful maintained that she would follow a structured legislative blueprint describing it as the statutory engine required for genuine community development.

”Development should not be treated as a series of ad-hoc projects, but as a legally backed, institutionalized process driven by people-centric bills and robust representation,” she stated.

She further argued that a development agenda without a solid legislative blueprint was “toothless,” just as she revealed would leave community growth entirely at the mercy of executive whim.

Ogor Tony-Obuh hinted that a legislative blueprint without a concrete development agenda was merely an “empty bureaucratic shell.”

According to her, true systemic progress only occurs where rigorous legal oversight meets transparent execution.

Aligning her vision with the core responsibilities of Lawmaking, Mrs. Tony-Obuh stated that her approach to lawmaking will focus on crafting truly impactful legislation that goes beyond the floor of the House to drive tangible, verifiable development across Ika South.
