​Ika South NDC Candidate, Ogor Tony-Obuh Visits Agbor Train Derailment Victims, Provides Cash Support

AGBOR — The National Democratic Congress (NDC) House of Assembly candidate for Ika South Constituency, Mrs. Ogor Tony-Obuh, today visited victims of the recent Agbor train derailment currently receiving treatment at the Agbor Central Hospital.

During her visit, Mrs. Tony-Obuh offered words of encouragement, distributed cash support, and urged the victims to strengthen their relationship with God during this challenging time.

Speaking with the victims, Mrs. Tony-Obuh introduced them to “Holy Ghost School”  emphasizing the vital importance of maintaining a direct, personal relationship with God.

“It is essential to have a one-on-one relationship with God,” she stated. “When you learn to hear from Him directly, you receive divine direction—He will reveal to you when to move and when to stand still.”

To further encourage the patients, she cited John 10:27, reminding them of Christ’s words: “My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me.” Just as she emphasized that deep spiritual grounding was essential for navigating life’s unexpected crises.

Beyond spiritual comfort, the assembly candidate addressed the structural issues surrounding the accident.

She called on the government to strengthen the nation’s railway infrastructure and implement stricter safety measures to protect commuters.

Furthermore, Mrs Ogor Tony-Obuh who is a known philanthropist urged regulatory authorities to be highly proactive in maintenance and safety oversight, while cautioning citizens to desist from any acts of vandalism or negligence that could endanger the lives of others.

Reacting to the visit, the Dr. accident and emergency, who spoke on behalf of the Medical Director, commended Mrs. Tony-Obuh for her benevolence.

He noted that her spiritual message and timely financial assistance were incredibly uplifting for the patients’ morale and recovery.

The victims also expressed their profound gratitude, describing her visit as a Godsend. 

They shared their harrowing ordeals during the derailment but noted that her words of faith and cash support had brought them much-needed comfort and hope.
