Delta Decides
Comrade Victor Ojei, the Action Peoples Party (APP) candidate for Delta North, popularly known as Wong Box Nigeria, has stated that he will not sponsor any new bills if elected to the Senate in 2027.
He made this declaration during an interactive session with reporters of Delta Decides.
Explaining his unconventional stance, Ojei noted that Nigeria already possesses a plethora of inactive laws.
Rather than adding to the volume of legislation, Wong Box emphasized that his primary focus will be to reactivate and strengthen these existing legal frameworks to ensure they are effectively implemented.
Citing a specific example, the senatorial hopeful pointed to an existing mandate requiring federal and state governments to compensate the families of kidnapping victims, lamenting that such a crucial law has remained largely ineffective.
“This is what I will focus on when I emerge victorious come 2027,” he affirmed.
Beyond legislative oversight, Ojei disclosed plans to establish a special committee to collaborate with the Delta State Government on the rehabilitation of deteriorating federal roads within the senatorial district.
He assured that he would expedite the necessary actions to ensure the federal government reimburses the state for these infrastructural interventions.
- “My people will feel the true impact of quality representation when I emerge as the Senator for the Delta North Senatorial District,” he added.
