Ebonyi State Governor, Francis Nwifuru, has warned that any local government chairman who fails to deliver his council area to the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2027 elections will be removed from office.
Nwifuru issued the warning on Tuesday in Abakaliki while inaugurating the newly elected chairmen and vice-chairmen of the stateโs 13 local government areas.
The governor said the council chairmen would be held responsible for the partyโs performance in their respective areas.
โAny chairman who fails to win his council will be removed from office and replaced with a councillor,โ Nwifuru declared.
He further directed the chairmen to work towards securing a 100 per cent victory for the APC in Ebonyi in 2027, warning them not to allow opposition parties to gain ground in their councils.
One of the newly inaugurated chairmen, Timothy Nwachi of Afikpo LGA, pledged that the council bosses would work to secure a landslide victory for the APC in 2027.
