Delta Decides

AGBOR — Dr. Charles Nwadiani is widely recognized in political circles as a key loyalist to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, a relationship built largely through his close alignment with the former Governor of Osun State, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola.

A veteran of grassroots politics, Nwadiani once served as a local government chairman in Lagos State.

Though he established his political footprint as one of President Tinubu’s trusted foot soldiers in Lagos, Dr. Nwadiani hails from Akumazi, a community in the Ika North-East Local Government Area of Delta State.

His political journey includes a bid for the House of Representatives in Lagos State, where his candidacy received significant backing, including nomination form sponsorship linked to the Tinubu political family, alongside promises of legal and logistical support from renowned political economist Professor Pat Utomi.

However, shifting his ambitions to his home state, Dr. Nwadiani set his sights on the Delta State governorship.

During the 2018/2019 electoral cycle, he mobilized a robust campaign aimed at preventing the re-election of the then-incumbent Governor, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa.

While Dr. Nwadiani has kept a relatively low profile recently, emerging indications suggest that the Ika-born politician and cleric may be preparing to re-enter the active political arena.

Observers remain uncertain whether his next move will involve seeking an elective position or positioning himself for a strategic government appointment.

For now, political stakeholders in Delta State are keeping a close watch on his next move.
