AGBOR — Mrs. Ogor Tony-Obuh, wife of the late Anthony Chuks Obuh—a former 2014 People’s Democratic Party (PDP) governorship aspirant in Delta State—has declared that her late husband’s vision to transform Ikaland into a “mini-London” remains alive.

Speaking at a meeting held at the campaign secretariat of Engr. Nwachukwu Emmanuel, also known as BAWO, the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) candidate for the Ika Federal Constituency, Mrs. Tony-Obuh stated that her husband’s dream has been resurrected through her own candidacy.

She expressed firm conviction that God would use her to fulfill those unrealized aspirations for the people of Ika South.

“God told me He was going to prepare a table before me to prove to the world that He can elevate anyone without relying on occult or diabolical powers,” she said.

Highlighting a lack of meaningful development across the constituency, Mrs. Tony-Obuh specifically cited Abavo following a tour of the community. She also pointed to the Ekwuoma community, where fallen utility poles had left residents without electricity for over two months.

According to Mrs. Tony-Obuh, government officials only rushed to erect new poles after learning she had donated funds to restore power.

Criticizing incumbent politicians, she argued that reliance on political godfathers hampers community growth.

“Many of those in power are only interested in pocketing funds because they answer to godfathers,” she stated. “I have no godfather—God is my Godfather. When you elect me and public funds come in, you will see the results. That is true democracy.”

Addressing infrastructure, Mrs. Tony-Obuh criticized the quality of road construction in Ikaland, particularly in Ika South, noting that newly paved roads wash away quickly due to inadequate drainage systems.

She urged voters to reject politicians who only visit during election cycles. “If it rains, everyone runs for cover because the infrastructure is substandard. I assure you that a vote for me will not be wasted.”
