Independence Day: Hon. Ogor Tony-Obuh Pledges Inclusive Growth for Ika South Constituents

AGBOR, DELTA STATE — Hon. Mrs. Ogor Tony-Obuh, a contender for the Ika South seat in the Delta State House of Assembly under the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has extended warm felicitations to Nigerians and the residents of Ika South Local Government Area on the occasion of Nigeria’s Independence Anniversary.

In an official Independence Day address to constituents spanning Agbor, Abavo, Oza, Alisor, and the 12 wards of Ika South, Hon. Tony-Obuh paid tribute to the sacrifices and courage of Nigeria’s founding fathers, emphasizing that the resilience and unity of the Nigerian people remain the nation’s core strength despite ongoing socio-economic challenges.

“October 1st reminds us of the sacrifices, courage, and unity of purpose of our founding fathers who fought tirelessly to give us the freedom we enjoy today,” Tony-Obuh stated. “Though we have faced challenges as a nation, we have remained one indivisible people bound by destiny, resilience, and hope.”

Describing the residents of Ika South as hardworking, peaceful, and hospitable, she urged constituents to renew their faith in the country’s democratic process and continue working together to foster community growth and peaceful coexistence.

Reaffirming her legislative ambition and vision for the constituency, Tony-Obuh pledged to deliver inclusive development and people-centered representation if elected to the state legislature.

“As I offer myself to serve you in the Delta State House of Assembly, I promise to be part of that new chapter where true democratic values, people-oriented representation, and inclusive development will be our guiding principles,” she declared, highlighting youth empowerment, women support, and quality education as key pillars of her agenda.

The address concluded with prayers for the continued peace and progress of Ika South, Delta State, and the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
