Comrade Collins Nwaoboshi has asserted that former Labour Party presidential candidate, Mr. Peter Obi, missed his best chance to win the presidency in 2023, predicting he will fail in the 2027 general elections.
Speaking in a media chat with Delta Decides, Nwaoboshi—an All Progressives Congress (APC) member and aspiring leader in Oshimili North Local Government Area—stated that the “Obi wave” has fizzled out and will not affect the electoral chances of APC candidates in 2027.
Nwaoboshi endorsed Hon. Innocent Esewezie was the ideal candidate to represent Oshimili North Constituency in the Delta State House of Assembly.
He highlighted Esewezie’s achievements in infrastructure and human capital development, citing projects such as the Cottage Hospital and other key developmental initiatives across the local government area.
“Hon. Esewezie faces no real opposition. Oshimili North is APC, and APC is Oshimili North,” Nwaoboshi said, emphasizing that the constituency prioritizes individual capacity over party affiliation.
He described Esewezie’s leadership style as inclusive and rooted in grassroots politics.
Addressing his political ties to the former Governor of Delta State, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa, Nwaoboshi noted that his background as a product of the “Okowa political school of thought” remains an asset to his leadership approach.
Reiterating his stance on the presidential race, Nwaoboshi concluded that the Obi movement poses no threat to the Party, maintaining that Peter Obi’s political momentum peaked in 2023 and has since passed.
