According to insider sources, tensions between Wike and the All Progressives Congress (APC) Governors Forum—led by Imo State Governor Hope Uzodinma—could escalate, threatening further division within the national political landscape.
Wike reportedly countered criticisms from Governor Uzodinma by pointing out that despite being a sitting governor, Uzodinma failed to deliver up to 10% of the total votes in his state for President Tinubu during the 2023 elections.
Political analysts link this feud to Wike’s ongoing efforts to rebuild and assert control over the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).
Having effectively sidelined key political opponents and figures within the party—including former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde—Wike is positioned to consolidate authority within the PDP fold.
Investigative reports suggest that a revitalized PDP aims to secure key governorships, legislative seats, and parliamentary majorities in the upcoming election cycle.

Meanwhile, Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara is reportedly preparing to oppose President Tinubu’s re-election bid.
Sources indicate that Governor Fubara remains aggrieved with certain political allies, particularly from Delta State, whom he accuses of misleading him during his high-profile fallout with Wike.
Another close source further suggests that Minister Wike is increasingly concerned about a potential election victory for Peter Obi.
