IKA SOUTH — Palpable tension has hit the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ika Federal Constituency following the official campaign flag-off of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC).
The campaign launch, which took place on Tuesday, September 15, 2026, drew key political figures, party candidates, and a large crowd of enthusiastic supporters.
Prominent among those present were the former Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly and NDC Delta North Senatorial Candidate, Rt. Hon. Victor Ochei; the Ika Federal Constituency candidate, Engr. Nwachukwu Leonard, fondly called BAWO, the Ika South House of Assembly candidate, Mrs. Ogor Tony-Obuh; and candidates representing the two Ika North East constituencies.
Speaking at the event, Rt. Hon. Ochei signaled an end to ineffective representation in the district, declaring that Delta North was on the verge of experiencing a new era of responsive leadership.
Echoing similar sentiments, Engr. BAWO stressed the urgency of changing the political narrative across the Ika Federal Constituency.
He pledged to sponsor free primary and secondary education for all students in the constituency once elected into office.
In her address, Mrs. Ogor Tony-Obuh promised Godly leadership and transparent resource management.
“I am on this journey by God’s leading, who instructed me to start from the House of Assembly. I fear no one—when God says go, you obey,” Tony-Obuh stated, assuring constituents that every critical issue facing the area would receive robust representation on the floor of the House.
