The Chairman of the Governing Board of the Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC, Chiedu Ebie, has called on the people of the Niger Delta to rally behind President Bola Ahmed Tinubu ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Ebie said the call became necessary to ensure continuity of the Renewed Hope Agenda, which he noted is already bringing renewed attention to development in the Niger Delta through the NDDC and other federal interventions.
Addressing stakeholders across the region, he stated that the Tinubu administration has shown commitment to completing abandoned projects, repositioning the NDDC for accountability, and delivering infrastructure, healthcare, power and youth empowerment programs that directly benefit Niger Delta communities.
“Mr. President has given the Niger Delta a seat at the table. We are seeing real efforts to fix roads, complete East-West Road sections, fund NDDC projects, and create opportunities for our youths. To sustain this momentum, the Niger Delta must speak with one voice and mobilise support for his re-election in 2027,” Ebie said.
He urged traditional rulers, youth leaders, women groups and community stakeholders to shun divisive politics and work with the Federal Government to maintain peace and stability in the region.
According to him, a stable Niger Delta is key to national prosperity, and the people must protect the gains already recorded under the current administration by ensuring that President Tinubu returns to office to consolidate on them.
Ebie reaffirmed that the NDDC under his leadership will continue to partner with Niger Delta stakeholders to ensure that projects and programs reach the grassroots before 2027.
