Former Governor of Delta State, Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, has endorsed the Executive Chairman of Ika North East Local Government Area Council, Hon. Monday Hunkamma Odigwe, for a second term, declaring that the council boss has delivered beyond expectations.
Okowa gave the endorsement while speaking recently at the mega empowerment programme powered by Odigwe through the councillors representing the various wards in the local government, held in Ute-Okpu Kingdom.
The former governor commended the people of Ute-Okpu for supporting Odigwe’s emergence as council chairman, saying his performance had surpassed what he initially expected.
He said: “I am thankful to Ute-Okpu for the choice of Odigwe as our LGA council chairman. Sincerely, I never expected that Odigwe would perform beyond our expectations. He has made us all proud. God will bless him.
“Odigwe still has one more year in his first tenure and an additional second tenure to go. There is no doubt that he will continue to break good records in administration.
“A job well done deserves continuity. Odigwe deserves the support of all of us. We thank you once more.”
Okowa also used the occasion to pour encomiums on the leadership and members of the APC in Ward 9, Ute-Okpu, for what he described as their huge support and loyalty to the party.
He particularly commended the ward for its consistent electoral performance, noting that, according to him, Ute-Okpu had never failed the party at the polls but had consistently come first with impressive numbers of votes.
He expressed appreciation to the people for their continued commitment to the party, describing their support as a significant contribution to the strength of the APC in the area.
Okowa’s remarks further highlighted the strong political support and grassroots mobilization in Ute-Okpu, while his endorsement of Odigwe placed emphasis on continuity based on the council chairman’s performance and ongoing empowerment initiatives across Ika North East Local Government Area.
