ASABA — As the next general election approaches, the political atmosphere in Delta State continues to heat up, the Acting Chairman of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP), Engr. Anderson Oruma, has declared that the party is fully prepared to defeat Governor Sheriff Oborevwori at the polls.

Engr. Oruma gave this assurance during an interactive session with journalists following the party’s consensus election at the NNPP Secretariat in Asaba, the Delta State capital.

According to him, the ruling party in the state has failed to fulfill its campaign promises.

He emphasized that the economy is currently in tatters and on the path to total collapse.

The NNPP Acting Chairman noted that his administration would prioritize education, describing it as the foundation for robust human capital development.

Speaking confidently about the party’s prospects, he revealed that the NNPP enjoys widespread support across the state, with its strongest strongholds rooted in the Delta South and Delta Central Senatorial Districts.

Echoing the Chairman’s sentiments, Mrs. Angela Adiwe, the NNPP Delta North Women Leader, asserted that the party has an 80% chance of victory in the next election.

Mrs. Adiwe pointed to worsening insecurity and severe economic challenges across the country as defining factors that will influence voters.

She called on Nigerians, and Deltans in particular, to utilize the power of their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) to bring about a change in governance.

Reaffirming their alignment with the national movement, she stated that they are the “real Kwankwasiyas” and maintained that Governor Sheriff Oborevwori would not return for a second term.

She added that an NNPP government would focus heavily on job creation and human capital development.

In the same vein, the NNPP Delta North Chairman, Hon. Ojubana Peter, remarked that the party was steadily marching forward.

He highlighted the peaceful, wrangle-free nature of the newly concluded consensus election for the extra Constituency noting that the just concluded consensus was a clear evidence of the party’s internal unity and readiness for the battle ahead.
