AGBOR — The Executive members of the Ika Movie Practitioners on Saturday, July 5, 2026, paid a solidarity visit to Mrs. Ogor Tony-Obuh, the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) candidate for the Ika South constituency in the Delta State House of Assembly, at her residence in Agbor.
The delegation, which drew executive representatives from various zones across the Ika South Local Government Area—including Ihu-Iyase, Emuhu, Oza-Nogogo, Abavo, Agbor-Obi, and Ekuku-Agbor—unanimously pledged their unalloyed support for the frontline NDC candidate ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Speaking on behalf of the delegation, the President of the association, Mr. Edoki, noted that Mrs.Tony-Obuh’s stellar track record and untainted family integrity made her the ideal choice for the constituency.
He stated that the coast was clear for her victory, promising that the association would robustly mobilize its members and the public across different platforms to ensure her success at the polls.
Mr. Edoki also appealed to Mrs. Tony-Obuh to sustain her support for the creative industry once elected into the state legislature.
In her response, Mrs. Ogor Tony-Obuh expressed deep gratitude to the filmmakers for their solidarity and reiterated her commitment to an inclusive leadership framework.
She emphasized that her political journey was entirely free from the influence of political godfathers, assuring the delegation that her loyalty remains solely with God and the people.
Sharing the inspiration behind her aspiration, Mrs. Tony-Obuh revealed that her decision to contest was born out of divine instruction rather than personal ambition.
“I did not come to Agbor to play conventional politics,” she stated. “God specifically directed me to run for the House of Assembly to prove to the world that He can elevate anyone to the highest positions without them relying on secret cults or seeking demonic powers.”
While promising to carry the association along during her campaign and tenure, she assured them that their support would be handsomely reciprocated once she assumes office in 2027.
She also introduced the delegation to the Holy Ghost School, admonishing them to prioritize their spiritual growth and build a close, personal relationship with God.
