On April 12, 2025, the Delta Unity Group (DUG) officially transitioned to the All Progressives Congress (APC). This pivotal event appears to have significantly impacted the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Ute Okpu community, with many purported PDP members now aligning themselves with the DUG.
Delta Decides has reliably learned that the Ute Okpu chapter of the PDP had scheduled a rally to demonstrate solidarity and maintain party morale amidst the recent defections.
However, sources indicate that the planned “Mega Rally” failed to materialize as expected, overshadowed by the DUG’s defection ceremony.
A source close to the Ute Okpu PDP chapter revealed to our platform that the rally was intended to counter the perceived strength of the DUG’s following. The source expressed surprise at the low turnout, suggesting a significant lack of attendance.
