The Immediate Past Deputy Senate President, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, has declared that there will be no room for Governor Sheriff Oborevwori to return to the Government House, nor for Senator Arthur Ifeanyi Okowa to reclaim a Senate seat in 2027.
Senator Omo-Agege made this assertion during a familiarization visit to Ute-Okpu in Ika North East Local Government Area of Delta State. He emphasized that Governor Oborevwori would not secure a second term, while former Governor Okowa’s chances of winning a Senate seat were equally slim.
According to Omo-Agege, the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has lost its electoral relevance in the state due to years of poor governance, mismanagement, and financial misappropriation. He insisted that the party would be held accountable for the misused state resources.
Reacting to Omo-Agege’s remarks, Dr. Chamberlain Dunkwu urged the people of Delta State, particularly those in the Ute-Okpu community, to support the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the upcoming general elections. He maintained that voting for the APC was the only path to installing credible leadership across the state.
The visit saw the presence of several APC chieftains, including Omola, a founding member of the PDP who has since defected to the APC; Felix Morka, the APC National Publicity Secretary; and Lucky Monye, an APC aspirant for the House of Representatives.
Speaking on the significance of the event, Mr. Promise Owasim, the APC Ika North East Secretary, described the successful turnout as a strong indication of the party’s growing influence and a sign of victory in the coming elections.
Speaking with a community leader who identified himself as Mr. Okafor Ehiwuihu, he asserted that with the political landscape shifting, Delta State appears to be gearing up for a heated electoral contest in 2027.
