Leaders and stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the Delta Central Senatorial District convened for a strategic meeting on Sunday at the Petroleum Training Institute (PTI), Effurun, culminating in a unanimous pledge of unalloyed loyalty to President Bola Tinubu and Governor Sheriff Oborevwori.

The high-level gathering focused intensely on reinforcing unity, discipline, and internal cohesion as the party begins preparations for the 2027 general elections. Discussions centered on strengthening the party’s organizational framework and ensuring readiness for what was described as a defining political year.

The Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Olorogun Festus Keyamo, SAN, moved a motion to formally pledge the Delta Central APC Stakeholders’ loyalty to President Tinubu and Governor Oborevwori, a motion seconded by Chief Andrew Oru.

Minister Keyamo commended President Tinubu for significant improvements in national security and economic stability. “Nigeria is beginning to record improved security across various regions,” Keyamo noted, attributing the progress to the President’s renewed commitment to confronting insecurity.

He also lauded Governor Oborevwori for “massive infrastructural development” across Delta State, describing the Governor’s development strides as unequalled.

Keyamo issued a strong caution to party aspirants as the APC congresses approach, emphasizing that party tickets would not be secured “from Abuja” without the endorsement of grassroots leaders. He stressed that loyalty, internal alignment, and respect for party structures were non-negotiable prerequisites for electoral success.

Reflecting on the state’s political landscape, the Delta State Chairman of the APC, Elder Omeni Sobotie, underscored the strategic shift from the PDP to the APC. He stressed the necessity of genuine grassroots engagement and urged members to remain united and resilient against political attacks, expressing optimism for a landslide victory in 2027.

The Delta Central Senatorial District APC Chairman, Chief Paulinus Akpeki, delivered a stark warning against indiscipline, factional loyalties, and divided structures, describing Delta Central as the party’s “political engine room” in the state.

“One of the major problems confronting us today is indiscipline among some members, especially within certain local government and ward executives,” Akpeki stated.

He unequivocally asserted the party’s leadership structure: “Delta State APC has only one leader, and that leader is His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, the Governor of Delta State. This is not up for debate. Any loyalty outside this structure is unacceptable.”

Akpeki announced upcoming reforms aimed at strengthening the district, including mandatory monthly senatorial meetings rotating across the eight local government areas and the creation of a Delta Central APC Caucus Committee for strategic planning, conflict resolution, and mobilization.

Senator representing Delta Central, Senator Ede Dafinone, Hon. Ejiro Waive, Executive Director of NEXIM Bank, Stella Okotete, Chief Solomon Igrakpata, and Chief Andrew Oru, all stressed the critical importance of unity in their separate remarks.

Local Government APC Chairmen present at the meeting unanimously committed to delivering maximum votes for President Tinubu, Governor Oborevwori, and all APC candidates in the 2027 elections.

As the meeting concluded, leaders reiterated their determination to reposition Delta Central APC as a disciplined, united, and formidable political force capable of securing sweeping victorious in the forthcoming polls.
