Delta state is centrally located in the core South South region. Endowed beyond its contemporaries in the committee of states. Delta state has the highest production/output of crude oil in Nigeria “onshore” and second only to Akwa Ibom in offshore production.

Three major untapped sea ports of Old and new warri Ports are in Delta, with a koko Port in warri north axis and Benet Island Port at the forcados terminals. The youth class in this Statistics is about is about 58% which places Delta very high in human resources capacity based on UN index. As at 2022, Delta state has a GDP of approximately 6.19 trillion naira, which underscores why its a top contributor to the Nation’s economy.
Delta state has proximity to the largest market in west Africa. Asaba is the closest town to Onitsha in the South East. The big heart has two functional airports in Osubi and Asaba with a matching traffic.
Warri in Delta presents a very functional creative youth class. Delta state has the largest audience of creative minds in Nigeria. Fact check. The likes Alibaba, J. Consummate professionals like Tony Elumelu, Bismarck Rewane, Fidelix Oditah Qc, Jim Ovia, the Ibru family, Mowoes etc are all from Delta state.
It is interesting to note that Delta state has well over ten universities comprising federal, state and private universities. They include: Western Delta University, Cecilia and Michael Ibru University, Novena University, Federal University of Petroleum, Marine technology/transport University, Unidel, University of Technology Ozoro, Dennis Osadebey University, Delta State University Abraka, Admiralty University and federal/state owned polytechnics. With the above index, it is most chagrining to note Delta state is yet to embrace the blue economy and open its space for cutting edge technological growth. This is a sector where innovation meets development. No rail project or functional business hub cum international or real sector trade fair centre.
Deltans are yet to see a strategic medical tourism centre or a clear cut short, medium or long term economic blue print for “FDI” foreign direct investment.
The biggest challenge is poor “Leadership Recruitment and Reward Strategy”
