The President of Urhobo Movie Practitioners, UMP, Comrade Efekoha Ikimi has hinted Nigerians of the association’s plan to hold her first audition in Warri, Delta State of Nigeria slated to hold on the 25th of November 2023 at Recozee Hotel, along refinery road
Comrade Ikimi stated that the aim of the association was to promote and strengthen the Urhobo language, acts and cultural heritage while fostering unity among all sons and daughters of Urhobo both home and abroad.
He noted that the association consisted of all Urhobo Movie makers, dancers, musicians, cinematographers, movie directors or artistic directors, home and abroad
Speaking further, Mr. Efekoha disclosed that it was necessary to build force and promote the Urhobo language, acts and heritage, claiming was a veritable way of strengthening the unity among all sons and daughters of Urhobo
The Urhobo born Artist, and community leader stated that it was a good call to all Urhobo movie producers, linguist to put hands together while bringing onboard their talents and enhance Urhobo culture
” We are happy this idea came to promote our culture and language. It is very critical to us. We Can not afford to allow our culture, tradition, and language to go”
Synchronizing the association’s aims and objectives, Comrade Ikimi emphasized it was necessary for all sons and daughters of Urhobo land to know about the cultural values of their land just as he called for financial support maintaining it was was the only way to actualize the aim of the association
Comrade Ikimi added that the association through Urhobo cultural heritage was prepared to set up Urhobo learning centers where Urhobo language would be taught.
” We are setting up a mechanism to establish Urhobo learning centers where our children would be taught how to speak our dialects. It is wrong for our children not to know how to speak our language. It is wrong.”
While making emphasis on the association’s intention to establish Urhobo learning centers, Comrade Ikimi called for financial support to achieve these moves

Appreciating also was Chief Joseph Okoro, the CEO of Recozee Hotel for giving the association his hotel to use for this 25th audition.
“We will get it right and our language must not be lost, including our culture and heritage.” He added
