Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has unequivocally stated his refusal to withdraw from the presidential race in favor of a Southern candidate.

Following a closed-door meeting with leaders of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Atiku emphasized his commitment to exercising his constitutional right to contest.

He declared: “I will not be pressured into abandoning my constitutional right to aspire. Let every qualified member test their popularity through a credible primary. Zoning must not be used to silence competence.”

This declaration has ignited significant debate online, particularly among supporters of the Silent Movement, who maintain their sole trust in Peter Obi as a presidential candidate.

The political landscape for 2027 is evidently intensifying. What are your thoughts on Atiku’s stance: should he proceed with his ambition, or would a concession to Peter Obi be more beneficial?
