Comrade Igbedion Macaulay, an activist, claims that Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan was misled by northern elites in an attempt to undermine President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration.

According to Macaulay, the suspended senator representing Kogi Central was used by a group of northern elites who sought to influence the Tinubu government.

He stated that these individuals felt the balance of power was skewed with both the President and the Senate President hailing from the Southern region of Nigeria.

Macaulay alleged that their goal was to discredit the Tinubu administration by fabricating sexual harassment accusations against Senate President Godswill Akpabio using Natasha.

He argued that the case was a failed attempt to seize power, as the hidden agenda behind the claims was evident.

The Delta-born activist further claimed that the northern elites planned to use Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan, whom he alleged has a history of sexually accusing people to level these accusations against Akpabio.

He said their ultimate intention was to force Akpabio to step down, allowing the Deputy Senate President, who is from the North, to take over and “balance” the power structure.

Macaulay revealed that the group promised Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan a position and offered her money, believing their plan would succeed.

”Thank God their plan did not work. I am very sure her suspension would be extended,” he added.
