OKI COMMUNITY – In a significant move toward sustainable community development, Mrs. Ogor Tony-Obuh attracts solar-powered borehole to the Oki community in Ika South Local Government Area, Delta State, today.
This project marks another milestone in Mrs. Tony-Obuh’s ongoing commitment to Ika communities.
Known for her proactive approach to grassroots development, she has consistently championed initiatives that directly impact the lives of Ika people
Recall she had previously dug a borehole to alleviate water scarcity in Oki and environs, also gave direct cash grants to market women to stimulate local trade and business growth to Ika People
During the site handover, community leaders noted that Mrs. Tony-Obuh’s dedication was a reflection of her family background, calling it a legacy rooted in character and a deep-seated commitment to the people of Ika land.
To many, she represents a “louder voice” attracting a community yearning for effective and transparent representation.
Today, the atmosphere in Oki was one of immense gratitude, as residents expressed that the site handover ceremony was more than just a ceremony, it was the “birth of an effective representation.”
As the solar-powered facility will begin operation, the clarion call for further collaboration will grow stronger
