Mr. Godwin Ogadi, a former Special Adviser to the Delta State Governor, has alleged that former Governor Ifeanyi Okowa acted as an “emperor” and held undue influence over Ika land.
Ogadi made these remarks on April 12, 2025, during the transition ceremony of the Delta Unity Group (DUG) held at the former Bende Hotel in Agbor, Delta State, Nigeria.
He stated that the DUG aims to “liberate” the people of Ika from the perceived control of certain individuals.
Remember, this comes after Okowa accused Ogadi and Mr. JC Aleh of ingratitude, claiming they benefited from his political patronage.
Hon. Erhiatake Ibori echoed Ogadi’s claim, asserting that the DUG and the All Progressives Congress (APC) are poised to challenge the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Ika land and throughout the state.
Mr. Okafor, a recent defector, described the event as “the beginning of an era” and urged APC members to remain steadfast in overcoming the “obstacles” posed by the PDP.
Barr. Felix Morka, the APC National Publicity Secretary and Chairman of the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA), praised the President for his commitment.
Notably, the PDP in Ute Okpu, Ika North East Local Government Area, scheduled a rally on the same day. Sources suggest this rally was intended to counter the perceived impact of the DUG defection ceremony.
