As citizens across the world usher in 2025, the Chairman of Ika South Local Government, Engr. Jerry Ehiwarior, has expressed his warm wishes to residents and people of Ika South Local Government Area.
In a goodwill message through his Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Jonathan Onwuka, the local government boss said it was joyful to mark the emergence of a New Year.
He said, “It is with immense gratitude to God that I join my people in celebrating the end of 2024 and entry into 2025.
“Last year was filled with various accomplishments and challenges. We were able to provide some public facilities just as we are aware that there are areas that we are yet to cover. We are not yet where we want to be on security. As I appreciate you for the huge support in ensuring our modest achievements, it is necessary to remind you all of my desire to retain your inputs in securing the lives of our people as well as public and private facilities.”
While wishing the residents a prosperous new year with renewed hope and vigour, the chairman reiterated his commitment to the social contract he signed on assumption of office.
He added, “On assumption of office, I promised to provide basic facilities with huge positive impacts on the people. We paved Abude Street with culverts on both sides. We built Alihame Neighborhood Market as well as grocery shops at Edike Market. We also provided toilet facilities with a water borehole at Alifekede Roadside Market. As soon as all these are opened officially for public use in the next few weeks, we will plough energies on other projects.
“Let’s enjoy this season of love.”
