Asaba, Nigeria — In a strong statement today, Public Affairs Analyst and convener of the Nigerian Youth for Good Governance Mr Igbedion Macaculy has publicly criticized social media personality VeryDarkMan, calling him an “empty vessel that makes the loudest noise.”

His comments were in response to VeryDarkMan’s recent threat to shut down the Dangote Cement factory in Edo State.

The threat was made in the event that Ruth Otagbor, sister of media personality Phyna, died from injuries she sustained after being struck by a Dangote trailer.

Macaculy acknowledged VeryDarkMan’s role in public advocacy but emphasized that he overstepped his authority by threatening to shut down a legitimate business.

“Under Nigerian law, VeryDarkMan has no right to take the law into his own hands by threatening to close down a factory,” Macualy stated.

A Call for Corporate Responsibility
While condemning VeryDarkMan’s actions, Macualy also expressed condolences to the family of Ruth Otagbor, who was tragically killed in the accident.

He used the opportunity to urge the Dangote Group to take more decisive action to prevent future road accidents.

“It is time to do the needful and engage the best drivers,” Macualy said, adding, “They need to organize mental and physical tests for their drivers to ensure they are fit for the road and avoid these unwarranted accidents.”
