Reports from our sources indicate that several Delta State support groups, instrumental in securing Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s victory in the 2023 election, are now expressing regret over their support.

This platform gathered that some members of these groups feel overlooked, citing a lack of recognition from the governor since he assumed office.

An anonymous member from one of the support groups disclosed that despite their significant contributions to Oborevwori’s closely contested election that saw him to victory, he has not acknowledged their efforts.

Another source shared that despite the country’s current economic challenges, the state government has shown no appreciation for those who risked much to ensure his electoral success.

“We are struggling,” the source said. “We put ourselves on the line to support Governor Sheriff in both the primary and general elections, yet we have received no concern or support from his administration.”

A contact within the Government House, who also requested anonymity, mentioned that a plan was in place to reward these groups but remains pending until the governor gives final approval.

Efforts to reach Hon. Emmanuel Aguariavwodo, the Senior Political Adviser to the Governor, were unsuccessful, as neither calls nor text messages were not answered at the time of reporting.
