As part of its ongoing governance assessments, DELTA DECIDES has conducted a critical performance review of aides to the Executive Governor of Delta State, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori.

This comprehensive evaluation aimed to identify and highlight individuals who have demonstrated significant impact since the Governor’s assumption of office.

Notably, approximately 75% of the assessed aides hold pivotal roles, directly contributing to the Governor’s agenda. The assessment was conducted without bias, relying solely on measurable impact and public followership

Delta State is recognized for having a substantial number of aides, many of whom play crucial roles in driving development at the local government level.

Among the distinguished individuals identified is Mr. Gelor Paul. Initially serving as a Senior Special Assistant (SSA), before he was subsequently elevated by the Governor to the position of Executive Assistant on Entrepreneurship, a testament to his recognized capabilities.

Since his upgrade to Executive Assistant, Mr. Gelor Paul has appointed 15 personal aides, drawn from various senatorial districts across Delta State.

Each of these aides receives a monthly stipend of not less than N100,000. Interestingly, DELTA DECIDES’ findings reveal that the total salaries disbursed to these 15 individuals monthly exceeds Mr. Gelor Paul’s gross salary.

Mr. Gelor Paul, who hails from Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State of Nigeria, embodies a philosophy of public service, consistently prioritizing the needs and well-being of the people.

Speaking with one of Mr. Gelor Paul’s aides, Mr. Clement Akpomudjere, it was disclosed that the regular salary received has been instrumental in addressing personal challenges.

Beyond providing salaries to his 15 aides, Mr. Gelor Paul has reportedly conducted giveaways benefiting approximately 500 individuals, with some recipients receiving generators to boost their businesses.

Furthermore, he has extended his philanthropic efforts to cover hospital bills for those unable to afford medical care and has paid school fees for underprivileged children in Delta State.

Mr. Gelor Paul’s philanthropic endeavors are not for public display but are sustained by a genuine desire to contribute positively to the society.

He is often referred to as “Mr. GOOD” in Delta State, likened to “a river who only receives to give out.”

Though, as part of our mandates, DELTA DECIDES did not release this assessment to eulogise him but as a sincere acknowledgment of his dedication and sacrifice in assisting members of society
