DELTA DECIDES team has expressed deep appreciation for the exceptional medical care provided to Chief Peter Idion, the Adolor Dein of Agbor Kingdom who is currently receiving treatment for a fracture at the Asaba Specialist Hospital (ASH).
Following a recent visit to the hospital, the team commended the compassionate and professional conduct of the staff, describing it as a reflection of the hospital’s high standards and leadership.
Celebrating a Legacy of Healthcare Excellence, Mr. Egbonimali Shadrack, DELTA DECIDES Founder, and the CEO of Stegma Travelling Agency Asaba, praised ASH, noting it was a testament to the visionary leadership of past administrations.
He emphasized that the facility, which was established with state-of-the-art equipment, will continue to serve as a pillar of healthcare delivery in Delta State.

Also speaking during the visit, was Comrade Darlington Okonma, the DELTA DECIDES Coordinator and Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Ika Chapel, lauded Senator Arthur Ifeanyi Okowa, former Governor of Delta State, for his foresight and commitment to healthcare.
He reiterated that the visit of Senator Ifeanyi Okowa’s to Chief Idion in the hospital was consistent with the compassion he is known for.
He emphasised that the completion and equipping of the Asaba Specialist Hospital to world-class standards was a legacy that will continue to save lives and inspire confidence in public health services.
Comrade Okonma described ASH as more than a medical institution, calling it a cornerstone of community well-being.
“The hospital is not just a center for healing, it is a vital economic engine which is creating jobs, supports local businesses, and stimulates the economy through salaries, taxes, and procurement activities.”
Commending Hospital Leadership, Okonma, the Ibusa born Journalist, praised the Chief Medical Director, Dr. Peace Ighosewe, for her exceptional leadership just as he noted that beyond infrastructure, the success of ASH was driven by its people, especially those at the helm.
He disclosed that Dr. Ighosewe’s leadership has ensured that the hospital maintains its high standards, claiming it was predicated on her expertise and unwavering dedication to patient care just as he noted was solidifying ASH’s reputation as a top-tier healthcare provider in the region.
“Her work gives residents peace of mind, knowing they have access to quality medical care when it matters most.”
