The Chairman of the Delta State Traffic Management Authority (DESTMA), Chief Peter Idion, has lauded the immediate past Governor, Ifeanyi Okowa, for his visionary leadership in initiating the construction of the UBEC road.
Chief Idion gave the commendation during a stakeholders’ meeting of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) held yesterday, the April 1st 2025 at Agbor, Ika South Local Government Area of Delta State, Nigeria
He eulogized the immediate past Governor Okowa for his infrastructural disposition just as he appealed to Governor Sheriff Oborevwori to expedite completion of both the UBEC road project and the ongoing construction of the College of Medicine.
Highlighting Governor Okowa’s foresight and transformative impact on the Ika Kingdom, Chief Idion underscored the critical role of road infrastructure in economic development, emphasizing the need to sustain the momentum of progress through continuous investments in infrastructural development.
Addressing Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s MORE agenda, Chief Idion, who doubles as the Adolor-Dein of Agbor Kingdom described it as a continuation of the Stronger Delta mantra, citing the upgrade of the College of Education to a full-fledged university as a testament of Okowa’s commitment to educational advancement.
He acknowledged the political mentorship he received from the late Dr. Cairo Ojoubo, recognizing his immense contributions to the development of Ikaland and Nigeria as a whole.
The meeting was attended by several notable PDP stakeholders, including former Gov. Okowa, Comrade Amaechi Igumbor, Sir John Nwajimejei, Dr. Peterson, Hon. Jerry Ehiwario, the Chairman of Ika South Local Government, Hon.
