BUZUGBE SLAUGHTERHOUSE: Residents Cry Out To Delta Government For Help

Residents of Buzugbe Street, Boji Boji Owa, have cried out to the State Government to come to their rescue following the unhealthy State of the abattoir located at the residential area.

A resident who gave his name as Mr Okoh Johnson disclosed to this medium that the dirty state of the abattoir was becoming an issue of great concern to not only the residents but the consumers of the meat that are purchased there.

He emphasized that it was necessary for the government to relocate the slaughterhouse to their permanent site.

Another resident identified as Onyekpe Joshua added that, the slaughterhouse effluent has caused environmental pollution in the area.

It would be recalled that the State government had built a permanent site for the butchers but was yet to be commissioned which was why the butchers were asked to stay in the temporary site along Buzugbe street.

Speaking further, Mr Onyekpe emphasized that the blood strain and the offensive odor has caused pollution in the area, hence the need for the government to intervene just as she mentioned the health dangers in the residential area.

Mr. Nkemchor Ifeanyi, who spoke on behalf of the butchers also appealed to the government to relocate them to the new site stating that the dirty environment was posing risk to consumers and those working in the slaughterhouse just as he reiterated their unwavering commitments to the course of Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori MORE agenda .”

“We are not happy to work in such a dirty environment. This is why we are making a passionate appeal to be relocated to where the government built for us.” he added.
