The Founder and CEO of Bemys Foundation, Quadrant Chief Dr. Mercy Eguriase Sule, has issued a scathing condemnation of the ongoing bloodbath in Rukuba, Jos, Plateau State.
In a recent press briefing, the philanthropist and community leader expressed deep trauma over the “barbaric” nature of the attacks, particularly those occurring on sacred days like Palm Sunday.
Quadrant Chief Dr Mercy Eguriase while making her points, placed a haunting emphasis on the visceral human suffering behind the statistics.
She drew particular attention to the viral, soul-crushing reports of a mother forced to hold the lifeless body of her son—a child slaughtered in the violence.
”It is horrific to see people killed like chickens,” Dr. Mercy lamented. “When you see a mother holding her dead son, a life she nurtured taken in a moment of senseless brutality, it breaks the very soul of this nation. This is not just a security lapse; it is a humanitarian catastrophe.”
While the CEO acknowledged the “Renewed Hope” mandate of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, she insisted that promises must now transition into visible protection.
She urged the Federal government to “brace up” and move beyond rhetoric to bring the actual perpetrators of this heinous crime to justice
.
Dr. Mercy Eguriase Sule noted that the government must prioritize ending the menace of daily slaughter to ensure the safety of innocent Nigerians.
She praised the efforts of Alex Barbie, a US-based missionary who has stepped in to rebuild 35 homes destroyed by criminal elements, allowing displaced victims to return.
Beyond the moral outrage, Chief Dr. Mercy warned that Nigeria’s economic dreams are being buried alongside its citizens. She argued that no amount of “investor-driven policy” can succeed while the country is perceived as a killing field.
”We cannot be a nation where citizens are murdered in their numbers and still expect foreigners to bring their hard-earned capital here. Security is the only foundation for a stimulated economy.”
Remember that Quadrant Chief Dr. Mercy Eguriase Sule, is a global Humanitarian and a diaspora ambassador who has wielded considerable empathy from her kit kin, having Bemys Foundation remain as one of the leading philanthropic organizations in Nigeria and the Diaspora, focusing on humanitarian aid, social justice, and community development.
