ABUJA, FCT – October 14, 2025 – The All Progressives Congress (APC) today announced and celebrated the defection of Enugu State Governor, His Excellency, Dr. Peter Mbah, along with numerous other leaders and stakeholders, to the ruling party.
In a press statement signed by the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, CON, the APC warmly welcomed Governor Mbah, congratulating him on what they termed a “courageous decision” to join Nigeria’s preeminent party.
The APC expressed confidence that the governor’s move would “consolidate and accelerate development and good governance in Enugu state,” further bolstering his leadership.
The statement highlighted Governor Mbah’s “impressive record of achievement,” noting his recognition with several awards, including the 2025 Presidential GovTech Awards for innovation and technology-driven public service delivery.
The party framed Governor Mbah’s decision as a strategically smart move, stating it represents an alignment with President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
This alignment, the APC believes, will reposition Enugu state as a “strategic partner, participant and beneficiary of the massive economic transformation currently underway in our nation.
“The party asserted that this development would ultimately ensure the good and prosperity of the people of the state, and the entire South-Eastern Nigeria.”
The APC reassured the Governor and the influx of new members of its “fullest support, accommodation and seamless integration” into the APC family.
