Delta born Human Rights Activist, Comrade Joy Edigbine has lambasted the Nigeria Labour Congress for claiming that the proposed 200k Minimum wage was no longer feasible and wanted the Federal government to increase it from 200k to 400k
Comrade Joy Edigbine who is fondly called Small Pepper, while speaking with Journalists noted that the Union was selfish for asking the Federal Government to increase the proposed 200k to 400k claiming that there were lot of Nigerians who were unemployed.
She emphasized that the union ought to be advocating for the masses who are suffering because of the economic woes instead of asking the Federal to increase the proposed 200k because of inflation
Comrade Joy revealed that the inflation which had hit the country was as a result of the proposed salary increment, just as she urged the Union to put the interest of the masses at heart
Speaking further, the Delta born Activist who doubles as the Coordinator of Civil Rights Council, Asaba branch reiterated the need for review of prices of goods and services disclosing was the only way the economy would gain stability
Recall that NLC had requested the Federal government to increase the proposed Minimum wage from 200k to 400k
” The prices of things would always get better when there are price review and follow up.” She added
