By Ika Mirror

Based on Elder Sheriff Oborevwore’s policy on whistle blowing and In a reaction to a recent publication in Ika Mirror claiming that Dr Kingsley Emu, Secretary to the Delta State Government, has recently renovated the ALIOSIMI Primary Healthcare Center.
High Chief Monday Efamehule, the Odabemeze of Owa Kingdom, a native and resident of ALIOSIMI has advised the SSG and his cohorts to stop deceiving the Governor of Delta State and his community ALIOSIMI especially, those living outside Owanta ALIOSIMI.

According to him, the Health Care Center was built during the time of Governor Uduaghan, when Kingsley Emu was the commissioner for commerce and that it shares boundaries with one of his plots and a stone throw away from his ALIOSIMI residence.
Chief Odabemeze noted that the ALIOSIMI health center which the SSG is claiming to have recently renovated has never been occupied or used and that Dr Kingsley Emu actually kept the center’s equipment in a private facility some of which he’s now bringing out to say he is renovating the facility.
That the only thing which Kingsley Emu has done to this facility is to bring back the center’s equipment and fence the place, of which this fencing may have been in the original BOQ when the contract was initially awarded.

He advised the SSG and his cohorts to stop playing with the intelligence of Owanta people and rather use his good office to attract viable projects to his community rather than fencing an already completed project and claiming to have renovated same.

Dr, Chukwuma Ex-wife Francesca Iwunze, Son Dada Christopher Nwaonicha, Against My Brother’s Burial ~Anna Nwaonicha

As the remains of late American trained Organic Chemist, a revered community and chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Dr Chukwuma Nwaonicha continued to lie cold in the morgue, a younger sister to the deceased, Ann Nwaonicha has accused his ex-wife, Francesca Ifenyinwa Iwunze, Vincent Arimokwu and Sunday Nwaonicha of instigating controversial court issues which have hindered the burial plans of her late elder brother..

The American based Ann who spoke in an online interview with newsmen during the week, frowned at the behaviours of the aforementioned persons who according to her have frustrated efforts to bury Dr Chukwuma Nwaonicha since his sudden demise more than two years ago.

She said, “My late elder brother, Dr Chukwuma Nwaonicha, was a caring and loving man who supported his family members very well in many areas. He was a good brother, a good father to his children, and a good friend to many both in Nigeria and in the United States of America.

“We received the sad news of his sudden death with a great shock because he was not sick. After his death, I took it upon myself to organize his children in the United States of America in order for us to give him a befitting burial. His ex-wife and mother to one of his children, last son, Francesca Ifenyinwa Iwunze, was carried along in the burial plans. She continued avoiding phone calls and did not care. I came to Nigeria with my late brother’s eldest child and son, Ostin, and with the involvement of other family members, we made all necessary arrangements for the burial. It was at the point of burying him that we were stopped by a High Court in Asaba after a suit was instituted against us by Francesca Ifenyinwa Iwunze and her son, Dada Christopher Nwaonicha. She was encouraged to go to court by Vincent Arimokwu and Sunday Nwaonicha.

Unfortunately, we have been in court since the case was instituted in 2023, and none of these family members have shown interest in getting our brother and father buried. Instead, they continued to spread lies and work against every move towards plans for the burial of Dr Chukwuma Nwaonicha. I have tried severally to make them see reasons why we should bury Dr Chukwuma Nwaonicha as he will not continue to be in the mortuary, but none of them is ready to listen to me. It’s really shameful and unbelievable that a man who has served his family, community, and government genuinely will be humiliated to this extent after his death.

While stating that she is not going to get tired in her efforts to get her late elder brother buried, Ann Nwaonicha appealed to concerned Agbor people, including politicians of Ika extraction to join her in the move to bury Dr Chukwuma Nwaonicha as his continued stay in the mortuary is very bad and unacceptable.

She added, “As Vincent Arimokwu continues to come to court to support Francesca Iwunze, his brother is crying out in the Montgomery jail to leave him alone to be buried.

“Vincent Arimokwu is money hungry. His goal is to steal his brother, Dr Chukwuma Nwaonicha s land even though he is owed nothing. No matter how much help he receives all the way to his daughter receiving money from Ann Nwaonicha to start a business, he remains ungrateful and looks for more.

“Ann Nwaonicha even paid money for a borehole to be dug at his house so that he and his family could drink water. Yet, this was not enough, and he wanted more.

“Ann Nwaonicha has spent over $30,000 U.S dollars on expenses related to the burial of Dr Chukwuma Nwaonicha. At this point, it feels like there is no end in site. My late brother’s ex-wife, Francesca Iwunze and her son, Dada Christopher Nwaonicha, Vincent Arimokwu and Sunday Nwaonicha are owing me”.

“God will judge anyone against the burial of Dr Chukwuma Nwaonicha because he does not deserve to be treated this way.

Senator Natasha Is A Monumental Disgrace To The Women Of Nigeria ~ Okonma

Agboje Chuks

The Nigerian Senate and the public are engaged in a heated debate following Senator Natasha Akpoki-Uduaghan’s public allegations of sexual harassment against Senate President Godswill Akpabio.

This has elicited diverse opinions, reflecting the complexity of the situation.

Senator Akpoki-Uduaghan, who is married to High Chief Emma Uduaghan, has drawn criticism from figures like Comrade Darlington Okonma, Coordinator of Delta Decides and the Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, Ika Chapter.

Okonma has strongly condemned Senator Akpoki-Uduaghan’s actions, labeling her as a “Monumental Disgrace” to Nigerian women and the institution of marriage.

He emphasized the cultural significance of marital hierarchy in Africa, where the husband is traditionally seen as the head of the family.

According to Okonma, public pronouncements, particularly those aired on national television, should have been made with the husband’s approval just as he argued that Senator Akpoki-Uduaghan’s revelation implied a lack of spousal consent, which he views as a breach of marital protocol.

He further expressed concern that Senator Akpoki-Uduaghan’s conduct has damaged the reputation of the Senate Presidency, stating that it is an institution and not a mere personal role.

He emphasized, “The office of the Senate President is not just Akpabio; it represents the third-highest office in Nigeria. Therefore, undermining this office indirectly undermines the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.” He added

Supreme Court stops Rivers Allocation, affirms leadership of Rt Hon Martins Amaewhule

The Supreme Court has stopped the Central Bank of Nigeria and the Accountant General of the Federation from allocating funds to the Rivers State government until a valid appropriation law is passed by the Rivers State House of Assembly.

A five-member panel of the Apex Court also orders that Martins Amaewhule and 26 other members “illegally excluded” from functioning as members of the Rivers State House of Assembly resume immediately.

This decision follows the position of the Court that the action of the Rivers State governor, Siminalayi Fubara, throughout the political saga had been borne out of fear of impeachment. It adds, that is no justification to attack the legislature or act in breach of the rule of law. It clearly faulted the action of the State governor, which includes the demolition of the Assembly building.

In the lead judgment read by Justice Emmanuel Agim, the Apex Court says to stop Amaewhule and 26 others from functioning on grounds of alleged defection was unlawful, adding that there is now no government in Rivers State, due to the absence of a legislature.

The Supreme Court has described the decision of the Rivers State governor, Siminalayi Fubara to present the 2024 budget to a four-member State Assembly as illegal as the House lacked quorum when the presentation was done.

The Apex Court says a four-member House represents 12.5% of the geographical entity, which is Rivers State. It therefore says that doesn’t constitute the right number to conduct legislative business. It further says legislative business cannot be conducted in secret.
